I have to admit, I feel like a horrible photographer mom. I only have 1 picture of my boys in there costumes.
If you're wondering if the coloring is right, It is. Ethan's face really was white. He woke up Halloween morning with the stomach flu. Poor kid had to miss his halloween party at school. He slept ALL DAY!! He was able to walk up and down the trunk-or-treat once before getting tired and wanting to go to grandmas house, where he spent the rest of the night on the couch. Hopefully next halloween will be better.
I can't not tell you the Logan Halloween story. We were supposed to be leaving the house for the trunk-or-treat in 10 minutes. I was upstairs getting dressed when I hear Ethan screaming, "Mom, Logan is putting his cape in the toilet!" Oh, don't worry, it wasn't just his cape, IT WAS HIS WHOLE COSTUME!!! So needless to say, we were late, I had to do some laundry before we went.

The Mess
The mess is FOREVER what this shall be known as. For I cannot forsee ANYTHING in the future (knock on wood) that will surpass this. And I must say, the only reason I'm blogging this, is because my Mom keeps asking to see it. And honestly, it's not much to see. It's a mess, and the Photographs don't do it justice. Having said all this: Here is the proof. There was a mess, And it was big.
In case you're not quite sure what this is, it is flour and sugar. 25 pounds of EACH. Translating into 50 pounds of flour on my floor. Don't let the picture decieve you, it wasn't just in the kitchen. It was going up the stairs. It was going down the stairs. it was on the wall above the stairs. It was in the carpet. IT WAS EVERYWHERE!!! Including on my children.
Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of the instigator, just the follower. But have no doubt, they were equally white. Notice the flour in Logi's hair. I didn't realize this before, but flour doesn't just rinse out. It balls up. I had to comb the flour out of his hair. OH MY. PLEASE let this be "The Mess". I don't know if I could handle a bigger one!

Hello! My name is Ethan, and I like to sing. . .
Today was my first time ever at Parent Teacher Conference. I probably don't have to tell you that I was nervous. Don't get me wrong, I know Ethan is a good kid, I know he's smart: But I know that he's a 5 year old boy who likes to tease, talk and imaginate (is that a word?).
The first thing that Mrs. McAllister says to me is this: "Ethan is such a funny kid!"
GREAT! I'm thinking. Then she tells me why.
The whole class was sitting together on the carpet reading a story, so it was VERY quiet in the classroom. Ethan gets up and goes to the bathroom. The bathrooms in kindergarten are actually in the classroom, so they don't get lost in the big school. All of a sudden, Ethan starts singing AT THE TOP OF HIS LUNGS in the bathroom!!! Ok, I have to admit, when she told me this i had feeling inbetween mortified and rolling on the floor laughing. Then I think to myself, he does that at home, why wouldn't he do that at school??? That's my Ethan boy!!!

Logi's Raspberries!
L. has been a very adventurous eater so far in his short little life. He hasn't liked Raspberries, however. So I thought I'd trick him. He LOVES olives on his fingers, so I put Raspberries on his fingers. He thought that was SO COOL! He ate 2 of them!!! The rest, he fed to Fisher! But hey, 2 is better than none!

A perfect ending. . .
After we got home from the trek on Saturday, and After we cleaned up we started hearing "BOOM", "POP" sounds. We looked up and saw that American Fork was doing Fireworks for Steel Days. If you didn't already know, we have an amazing view off of our bedroom deck. So we hightailed it up there. It was a perfect setting Fireworks going off right by the Mt. Timpanogos Temple. I had to run and get my camera. I've never really taken pictures of fireworks before, and don't really know how, so these aren't the best they could have been, but I think they are pretty none the less~
Thanks for looking!

TREK!!!
Last week Jonathan and I went on the "trek" for our stake. For those of you who don't know what trek is: Trek is a "camp" where youth go push handcarts and do thinks that pioneers would have done crossing the plains. (nutshell) I would have liked to take more pictures, but I was too busy trying to remember to breath. Yes, It was A LOT harder than I thought, and no, I didn't prepare like I should have!
We started out at a service project for the American West Heritage Center in Wellsville, Utah. (home again, home again, well, withing 5 miles anyway). Our "company's" job was to weed the garden. Which, once we found out what everyone elses job was, we were grateful, because we got to sample some of the veggies and fruit. Others were weeding the pumpkin patch, no samples there!
We then set out on the trek. This is our families flag.
Chili! MMMMMMM. The best meal we had for four days!
The first night of trek. We got a message from "Porter Rockwell". The army is coming. We needed to move out. So at about sunset, we packed up our camp and headed out for about 3 hours. this is lights from the company about 1/2 mile behind us. If you can tell, they are a ways down, which means, we were CLIMBING most of the time.
For one of the morning "DEVOTIONALS" we were on the side of a hill. We took over the home of some grasshoppers, so they found a new home on us!

The Bright Side
The bright side of life. As a mother this is something that I have to look for almost everyday. As a general rule, anything other than the day to day routine is very bright. Then there are days like to day, when the unexpected happens. You are ready for the dishes, the toys, the food throwing, what you are not ready for is this (see below). So, beyond the smile and the shake of the head, one may ask: "What is the bright side of all of that?"
